Rahul Gandhi and Satyam scam

January 10th 2009 08:08

Does Rahul Gandhi have anything in common with Satyam? Bet you a hundred to one some netas are bound to be involved in the Satyam scam too, so also will local banks, private banks, cooperative banks and senior officials. However that’s not what Rahul Gandhi has in common with Satyam. I will come to that answer later. What we have seen in Satyam Computers today is merely the tip of the iceberg and 53,000 thousand families holding their breath because they fear the breadwinner will lose his job. The human cost of Satyam has been totally sidelined by the media today. No TV News Editor thought of doing a series on what Satyam employees expect from the government and the public now or from that matter from God. 2009 is anything but a happy new year for them.

However, the stock market crash has provided an opportunity for several investors to make money in the stock exchange. The fall of Satyam stocks by more than 90 per cent makes it a good buy today. Set aside a few thousand rupees and look at the brighter side. The company has huge technical qualified human resources, so to hell with whathisname Raju and focus on the companies assets. At twenty rupees this share is a steal for those willing to go in for a long term investment in Satyam. So buy it tomorrow when the market reopens and keep it. It is a share that will give long term returns.
Satyam has also brought down the entire stock market with it. This too gives many a opportunity to investors to now invest their money wisely in proper shares at the right price. Those who have burnt their hands in real estate or will when the real estate crash comes in a few months, will find that these shares may help them recover their losses.
Whatshisname Raju has actually done investors a big favour today. Those who play the market carefully will definitely benefit.

Now ask me why Rahul Gandhi is like the Satyam share. No fraud intended the Congress Party in UP was defrauded by enemies within the party into losing more than 90 per cent of its share in the Vidhan and Lok Sabha. Today they are a distinct minority but still have talent and the kind of human resources needed to steer the country ahead in troubled times. Even those who termed the Congress weak kneed after 26/11 realise that the diplomatic offensive they are launching today is providing results that a hot shooting war on Pakistan would have. Such a war would have shattered our economy too.
In Uttar Pradesh therefore most people feel that Rahul today is like a share brought down by the stock market crash and it is the right time to invest in him. Let us see what is happening today. Just as investors are hoping that Satyam will get revived one day several minorities and marginalised communities are today hoping that the Congress does well in the Lok Sabha elections. “Bas ek bar Congress ka danda chal jayey UP mein toh phir dikheye ga,”

Thane District Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik took representatives of various junior colleges

Thane District Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik took representatives of various junior colleges to task for not attending the interactive session called by him on Friday at NMSA.
Naik asked NMMC officials to read out the names of colleges, who did not send their representatives for the meeting. The college representatives were even asked to sign their attendance before the meeting began. Naik then instructed CIDCO officials to speak to authorities of those colleges who did not attend the meeting and seek an explanation.
Naik pointed at the increasing number of complaints from parents and students during the Janata Darbar and complained that some haughty principals from prestigious private institutes don't even look at the recommendation letters sent by him. "Are they above the system? They don't think it necessary to attend a meeting called by the guardian minister, civic chief and top police officials? Some schools behave like corporate and think in terms of profit and loss," he questioned.
He also urged principals to consider giving admission to poor students which is part of their social responsibility. "At times, authorities simply throw the request letters into dustbin. Many parents are unable to afford fees and hence they seek our help. Schools in Navi Mumbai who have received land from CIDCO at concessional rates must give preference to the sons-of-soil," he said. Civic chief Vijay Nahata pointed out at the number of freebies offered to students from impoverished backgrounds in NMMC schools and urged others to do the same.

Guardian Ganesh Naik takes up cause of Vashi home owners
Thane District Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik has agreed to intervene and find an amicable solution to the burning issue of illegal extensions in row houses of sector 6, 7 and 8 in Vashi. The decision came after some residents approached the minister for help. Naik is expected to hold a meeting with both aggrieved residents of the row houses and officials of the NMMC in the next two days to resolve the matter, sources confirmed.
This has brought some relief to residents of these row houses who have been spending sleepless nights ever since NMMC began the survey and started issuing notices to families, who had extended their properties.
