Rahul Gandhi and Mumbai terror
December 9th 2008 02:14
All eyes are now turned on Rahul Gandhi as the results of Assembly elections come in from several states in India. The Congress Party wheter it likes it or not ownes its win to this young leader even though some senior politicians may not like to admit it. The Mumbai terrror attack has done what all the history buffs in India failed to do. It has woken up the Indian voter to the dangers of being disunited in the face of external threat. As a nation we have always been disunited in the face of external threat. When Alexander came one king was plotting against the other. When Muhammad of Ghor came it was the same old story. But today the voter is king and he has realised that he needs proper representation. Only a young and new person should be givne charge and it seems the public feel that Rajul can fill that gap. So why not Rahul Mahajan. Obviously Monica and big boss have ruined his career in poliitics.
With all eyes focussed on Rahul, as he is one of the few who has refrained from making any stupid gesture or remark and has maintained a dignified silence on the whole issue, the Congress is bound to gain in the Lok Sabha elections and it will only be a matter of time before the public will be demanding the blood or jail terms for Netas who have made assets disproportionate to their income.
