Make your India visit memorable

This is December the time of the year when tourists flock to India to see one of the seven wonders of the world the Taj Mahal, the Tigers and the ancient cities of Varanasi and Jaipur. A vist to India can be memorable but it can also be a disaster and you could end up in the institiute of tropical diseases on your return.
The most common infections one can pick up in India are cholera and juandice and even some form of sexually transmitted disease.
This is because tourists do a lot of things they should not on a visit to India. Here is a list of what you should do and what you should not.
First and foremost keep a close eye on your wallet and camera and passport. Thieves will target this immediately. Be very alert on board a train as trains are not sealed in India and it is very easy for someone to disembark with your goods.
Eating out is another problem. Always eat hot fresh food. Wash fruits in your hotel room before cutting and eating them and never ever eat from a roadside stall. While getting a stomach infection is easy from a cheap eating joint, insist on dosposable plates and glasses and always always always drink bottled water. Be careful of the brand you buy too, it should be aquafina, kinlay or bisleri as the others could be tap water filled in bottles and chilled which could be worse than drinking tap water.
The biggest danger however is sexually transmitted disease as more and more tourists are coming to ciites like Delhi for sex tourism. The internet provides them with cheap and easy access to several girls and boys willing to escort white tourists for a price. Be careful of these escort agencies and never travel with them. Several trourists have been murdered or worse for their money by escorts. And if you are desperate for sex in India then practice safe sex. Stay away from sleazy hotels, and sleazy touts and cheap prostutes, they could even give you AIDS.
